๐ผ Empowering Communities with Green, Resilient Income
For millions of Africans, climate change means lost crops, dying livestock, and vanishing jobs. But resilience isnโt just survival โ itโs opportunity.
AFRIHECOMโs Climate-Smart Livelihoods programs equip women, youth, and marginalized groups with green skills, sustainable enterprises, and market access โ so they can earn income despite the changing climate.
We turn climate challenges into economic opportunities through innovation, inclusion, and communication.
โ Green Entrepreneurship Training
We train youth and women in eco-tourism, agro-processing, solar lighting sales, and green construction โ linking them to microfinance and cooperatives.
โ Drought-Resilient Farming
We support pastoralist women in Isiolo and Mandera to adopt drought-tolerant crops, drip irrigation, and fodder production โ reducing dependency on unpredictable rains.
โ Nature-Based Enterprises
We help communities launch beekeeping, eco-brick making, and wetland restoration services โ where income and ecosystem health grow together.
โ Digital Market Access
We use mobile platforms to connect farmers and artisans to fair-trade markets, reducing exploitation and increasing profits.
โI used to beg during droughts. Now I run a solar lamp business and train other women.โ
โ Halima Abdi, Mandera, Kenya

- 30% increase in household income in pilot areas
- Youth unemployment reduced through green job creation
๐ฑ Our Approach: Equity at the Core
We focus on women, youth, and displaced populations โ because they are most vulnerable to climate shocks, yet most capable of driving change.
Through story circles, peer mentorship, and media campaigns, we:
- Challenge gender norms in agriculture and business
- Amplify success stories to inspire others
- Advocate for inclusive economic policies
โA woman with a green business isnโt just feeding her family โ sheโs leading her community.โ
